Last week’s outreach began at Sacramento Charter High School, where we met with the counseling team to discuss Scout’s plans and scholarship program. All were very excited to learn about Scout’s focus on helping students credit recovery and providing courses to supplement a school’s existing curriculum.
Our next stops were Luther Burbank High, Monterey Trail High, and Laguna Creek High. (Check out the sign in Hmong from Luther Burbank High to the right!) Here we spoke with counselors and career center technicians to explain Scout’s mission to provide plans to fit different academic needs and a scholarship program to make our courses more accessible to California public school students.
From there, we headed over to Cosumnes High and Elk Grove Unified School District to speak with the head counselors about Scout’s mission to close achievement gaps between groups of students throughout the state of California and beyond by providing courses for credit recovery and supplemental education.
The rain began to roll in as we made our way over to Sheldon High. This school was lively with students, fresh out of class and ready to head home after a long day of studies. Our final stop was Pleasant Grove High, where we were spoke with the Career Counseling Technician to explain the ins and outs of Scout’s offerings and scholarship program.
